In 2009, international pop culture icon
Britney Spears embarked upon her first world tour in five years, to
support her chart-topping studio album Circus.
The entertainment world’s #1 little
person Mighty Mike featured in the opening act with other Big Apple
Circus performers, before making a further appearance as a midget rocker
playing
guitar later on during the show. DJ Mighty Mike also spun
a smooth mix of tunes to
entertain VIP Meet & Greet ticket holders during their two-hour
pre-concert experience on most tour dates, using his own mobile DJ rig.
The Circus Starring: Britney Spears
was the highest grossing tour of 2009 in the U.S. and the third highest
grossing tour worldwide. Midget entertainer Mighty Mike performed on stage for more than
one million people during the 96 shows in 14 countries over the course
of two North American legs, a European leg and an Australian leg between
3 March and 29 November. The biggest show of the tour took place in
front of 40,000+ people in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Experienced with the rigors of a world
tour, dwarf entertainer Mighty Mike travelled with over 200 tour staff, while his
gear was among the 3,000 rolling cases packed into more than 30
semi-trailers. All this to keep the massive concert production on the
road to entertain the fans of Britney Spears – the eighth best-selling
female recording artist in U.S. history who has sold over 85 million
records worldwide.
Mighty Mike is the only world touring
entertainment dwarf.
