MIGHTY
MIKE STRONGMAN BODY BUILDER
Mighty Mike began body-building and
power-lifting at sixteen
years of age back in 1994. Within a year, he was winning trophies at
body building competitions.
As the only dwarf bodybuilder competing in America,
Mighty Mike competed in 9 shows during 1997 from New York, New Jersey,
Florida and Ottawa, Canada. He won 3 of these competitions in the under
143 pounds Bantam
weight division (he weighed in at 101 pounds).
During 2000 in Phoenix, Arizona little
person Mighty Mike lifted three times his own weight, winning first
place in the competition's under 180 pounds division. He bench pressed 305 pounds,
did squats of 315 pounds and dead-lifts
of 115 pounds.
Featured in a range of muscle magazines
over the years, midget strongman Mighty Mike has always enjoyed keeping his fitness levels up by
training at his home gym, complete with customized benches, weights,
bikes, etc.
In 2003, Mighty Mike headed out to
California's Mojave Desert and competed in the first
Man Vs Beast competition. As one of a team of 48 little people
pulling a 747 aircraft, he raced an elephant doing likewise. His quality
performance saw Mighty Mike invited back months later to compete in
Man
Vs Beast 2 at Los Alimatos Race Course in Orange County, CA;
this time one of 4 little people competing in a dangerous relay race against a camel.
Television network FOX has given the opportunity to make another event
possible, so we wait with baited breath to see what's next for these
competitive midget racing daredevils!
Mighty Mike was invited to compete in the 2004 California's Strongest ProAm
competition. He trained with The Freak Factory for more than a year
before competing in this national strongman competition with many of the
world's best. Weighing in at 105 pounds, midget Mighty Mike challenged
himself in many events: The Tree Trunk where he lifted 115 pounds over
his head, The Farmer's Walk where he had to run 50 meters carrying 110
pounds in each hand, and The Tire Flip where he turned over a 200 pound
tire 40 times across 50 meters in just over 2 minutes.
These days, Mighty Mike continues to
train and is still able to bench
press more than double his own weight. Years of body-building and weight
training has given Mighty Mike a high degree of metal toughness and
discipline, which serves him well for every challenge he faces in life.
